Open and inspect
The glass-media bed and lower service area were accessed without disturbing the finished surround.
This outdoor linear fireplace in Massapequa used natural gas and clear glass media, but the burner was not receiving usable gas flow. The service required opening the unit, checking the accessible fuel path, clearing trapped air from the line, restoring operation, and adding remote control convenience.
The fireplace controls could be operated, but the burner did not establish a normal flame because gas was not reaching the unit as expected. The front access and glass-media area were opened so the gas connection and burner assembly could be inspected.
The line contained air that had to be purged before stable natural-gas flow could reach the fireplace. After the air was removed and flow was restored, the burner ignited across the linear firebox and the flame pattern was observed.
The project also included adding a remote control so the customer could operate the outdoor fireplace more conveniently. The unit was reassembled with the glass media and tested in its finished outdoor setting.
The glass-media bed and lower service area were accessed without disturbing the finished surround.
Air was purged from the natural-gas line and the accessible gas path was checked until fuel reached the burner normally.
A remote was added, the fireplace was reassembled, and the flame was verified across the linear burner.
