Fireplace repair, chimney service, gas-fireplace diagnostics, pilot and ignition work, cleaning, safety inspections, outdoor fire features, and installation support for Amityville homes and businesses.
Skyway works with South Shore homes, waterfront properties, established neighborhoods, rentals, restaurants, and mixed-use buildings. We service gas fireplaces, direct-vent and vent-free units, gas log sets, inserts, masonry and factory-built chimneys, outdoor fireplaces, fire pits, and compatible custom fire features.
A fireplace is a connected system. The burner, pilot or ignition components, valve, wiring, fuel supply, glass, media, combustion air, venting, chimney, exterior termination, and surrounding construction can all affect operation. We diagnose the symptom before recommending a repair so a common part is not replaced when the actual problem is elsewhere.
Local conditions can matter. salt-bearing air, wind-driven rain, humidity, freeze-thaw cycles, and corrosion around outdoor fire features and exposed vent components may affect masonry, flashing, caps, chase covers, vent terminations, electrical connections, metal components, and outdoor appliances. Service recommendations are based on the actual equipment and installation rather than the ZIP code alone.
Testing for ignition failure, shutdowns, weak flames, soot, odors, switch and remote problems, and intermittent operation across the pilot, sensors, wiring, valve, burner, fuel supply, and vent system.
Gas fireplace repair →Standing-pilot and electronic-ignition systems require different test paths. We verify flame contact, output, wiring, approved components, fuel type, and the condition of the complete assembly.
Pilot assembly service →Accessible burner, glass, logs or media, pilot, controls, air openings, firebox, and vent observations are reviewed for debris, corrosion, soot, displacement, damage, and operating concerns.
Fireplace cleaning →Visible chimney, cap, crown, flashing, chase cover, moisture, obstruction, and airflow conditions are considered together with the appliance and the type of exhaust system.
Chimney inspection →Planning for fireplaces, inserts, log sets, direct-vent units, and linear systems includes fuel, vent route, clearances, heat management, electrical needs, access, and finish coordination.
Installation planning →Rain, wind, insects, debris, salt, moisture, and seasonal shutdown can affect outdoor burners, ignition systems, valves, controls, media, and gas connections within the appliance.
Fire-pit service →Careful work around flooring, stone, tile, mantels, millwork, televisions, furniture, and finished interiors. We identify equipment and access requirements before opening the service area.
Support for restaurants, marinas, rentals, multifamily properties, builders, hospitality sites, and property managers across the South Shore, with scheduling around tenants, guests, public areas, vendor requirements, and operating hours.
Clear equipment counts, model information, symptoms, photos, access contacts, and project priorities help us plan multi-unit, turnover, renovation, and new-construction appointments.
Schedule service when a pilot repeatedly goes out, the burner lights slowly, flames appear weak or uneven, glass develops heavy black soot, the unit shuts down after warming, controls work intermittently, or unusual odor or noise appears.
Water stains, white deposits, rust, loose masonry, damaged caps, deteriorated chase covers, animal or debris entry, and smoke entering the room also deserve evaluation. Maintenance before the heating season provides time to address unreliable ignition, worn parts, moisture damage, or blockage before daily use.
Possible causes include vent restriction or recirculation, a weak thermopile, a safety control, wiring resistance, an ignition component, a valve, or flame-quality problems. The complete appliance and vent path should be tested before parts are replaced.
Usually not. Fuel pressure, orifice size, pilot components, valves, burners, and conversion requirements can differ. We verify the rating plate, model, fuel type, manufacturer instructions, and approved parts.
Yes, when the unit and required components are serviceable. Each system has different combustion, venting, glass, media, clearance, and safety requirements, so we identify the appliance before planning work.
Free estimates and initial inspections are available within the normal local service area. For farther travel, a $49 service-call fee may apply and can be credited toward approved work. Any fee is explained before scheduling.
Yes. Tell us how many fireplaces, chimneys, fire pits, or outdoor fire features are on the property and describe the symptoms for each so we can reserve the right amount of time.
Yes. We work with restaurants, hotels, offices, senior communities, builders, property managers, HOAs, and professionally managed rentals where access coordination and clear communication matter.
This page represents a local service area. Appointments are scheduled based on distance, project scope, access, parts, and availability. If your community is not listed, call with the ZIP code and the type of fireplace, chimney, fire pit, or outdoor fire feature that needs attention.
Skyway is available Monday through Friday from 7am to 7pm. Our team serves both residential and commercial properties and can coordinate with builders, plumbers, HVAC companies, electricians, designers, and property managers when a project requires several trades.
